Thank you for being a friend of Canyon Ranch Institute!
Dear Friend of Canyon Ranch Institute,

Our mission at Canyon Ranch Institute is to help the world become a healthier place. We're delighted to share the latest news about how we're meeting that mission.

First stop: Join us in celebrating the CRI Healthy Community program debut at Apollo Middle School in Tucson, AZ.

CRI Healthy Community focuses on cooking and nutrition, physical activity, relaxation, and gardening. The program pilot we conducted in 2014 helped participants with low income, high stress, and high rates of chronic disease develop knowledge and skills to improve their health and happiness. From cooking and eating healthier, to learning how physical activity and feelings affect our well-being, this program is offered in partnership with Apollo Middle School and the non-profit Grow 2B Fit Foundation. CRI Healthy Community will start October 24, 2015. For more information about volunteering, donating, participating, or working with CRI to bring this program to Tucson families or people in your community, please visit CRI Healthy Community or contact me at jennifer@canyonranchinstitute.org.

CRI Healthy World Scholarships

To commemorate the 35th anniversary of Canyon Ranch, and to further Canyon Ranch Institute's community efforts, Canyon Ranch generously donated 25 stays at Canyon Ranch in Tucson, AZ, as scholarships for people who work or volunteer in low-income and medically underserved communities. Scholarships were awarded in five categories.
  • The first was named for CRI President Richard H. Carmona. The Richard H. Carmona Scholarship for Returning Veterans was awarded to veterans of U.S. uniformed services deployed since 2001. Watch the video.
  • The Arts and Health scholarship group was comprised of people who serve their communities through a range of creative disciplines. Watch the video.
We'll report on three more scholarship groups in our next newsletter!
