McQueen's Interiors February Newsletter
Greetings!

It is the New Year and if you are anything like we are, you are ready for a New Look.  Our motto "Out with the Old, In with the New". We hope to provide you with valuable tips this year to help you rekindle the love for your home. We hope that the design ideas in this newsletter, as well as others this year, will help you embrace a few new changes and allow you to see all the possibilities that your home has to offer.

Fitting in a Flat Screen
With the Super Bowl just days away, let's chat about  TV's.  Now that the clunky tube TV's have given way to the sleek, slim fitting flat screens, we have  several options that are both functional and flattering.  Since TV consoles and entertainment centers are such a natural focal point they seem to dictate the layout for the room. I am often asked, "How far away from the TV should you be?"  A good rule of thumb is two and half times the size of the screen. For example, if you have a 42" TV your furniture should be placed 105"  away from the TV.   Do you have the prefect layout for your family room?  If you need help with furniture placement, give one of the designers a call today.

Create that perfect workstation
Just because your home does not have a dedicated home office, does not mean that you can't create a comfortable and functional workstation.  Whether you work from home full time or just need a place to pay your bills, effective use of space will allow even the smallest of areas to become a workstation.  How about replacing a chest with a small drop down desk.  This would be a perfect spot to store your mail and if it was open you would be able to work on your laptop plus it offers plenty of storage.  How about converting a guest bedroom closet into an office?  The possibilities are endless.
