Pantone Color of the Year
Emerald Green
| | |
"The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "As it has throughout history, multifaceted Emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today's complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors."
What do you think of Emerald, the Pantone 2013 Color of the Year? Is this a liveable hue that will find a way into your home?

Greetings!
Designers like myself eagerly await the early-December announcement of Pantone's color of the year. Emerald was just announced as the choice for 2013!
Emerald is "lively, radiant, and lush. A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance, and harmony", according to Pantone.
Where can we use Emerald Green for design? Certainly paint colors will soon reflect Pantone's samples. It's a great accent color for rugs, pillows, and painted furnishings. Accessories such as green vases, platters, linens and other serving and tableware are popping up everywhere these days.

 | How to Accent with a Bold Color | |
Start with an inspiration, it could be from an art piece, a rug, or even an article of clothing. Pick three colors from your inspiration and build upon that to achieve a cohesive, simple and balanced look in your room's scheme. Once you feel confident add more colors sparingly around your room using accessories.
If you are not so savvy in choosing your paint colors, stop by and see one of our designers. We have loads of paint swatches in our Design Center and would love to help you choose the right color.

We're not in Kansas anymore! Take Dorothy's word for it and follow the yellow brick road to The Emerald City, because emerald green is going to be big in 2013. We love it in all its variations and applications, whether it's a colorful twist on a traditional lamp or a rug that represents the look of fresh green grass. And while the hue does make a statement, it's never overbearing or gaudy. It's a new year must for your home and your wardrobe.
Sincerely,
Dana McQueen McQueen's Interiors
