Retiree Luncheon
Retiree Luncheon

The Libraries welcomed a group of retired staff for a tour and luncheon on May 14th. The group of 12 was shuttled to The Facility for an insider's tour and also walked around Bird Library to view
recent improvements. The event concluded with a luncheon in the Peter Graham Scholarly Commons. Attendees were very appreciative of the opportunity and there is talk of making it a regular event.

Student Recognition

In recognition of their hard work all year, student employees from across the Libraries enjoyed an ice cream social on April 29th, catered by Gannon's. Volunteers from all areas of the Libraries that employ students participated in planning the event.

Tell Us What You Think!
Despite the fact that the academic year has ended, SU students continue to comment about the Libraries using social media outlets, such as Twitter and Facebook. Many of their musings receive a reply from the Library's official Twitter handle, @SyracuseULib. Here are some of the things that have been on their minds:
  • Working in Bird Library for the first time in 3 years at SU. I think it's the cleanest library I've studied in. Probably 'cause it's summer.
  • Heathrow airport = bird library...zero outlets in sight...ugh
  • I will never understand how people get work done in Bird Library. All people do here is socialize
  • Procrastination level: examining the waffle-like design of the Bird library ceiling... #finalsweekgotmelike
  • This is how I feel when I walk into the Quiet Room, on the 6th floor of Bird Library, at SU. http://t.co/SKfp4K6iOP
  • Nice to be appreciated by the young people I supervise :) #grateful #supervisor #SUlibraries by micthapoet
  • Play time is over. Less than 24 hours until my comprehensive exams. Don't lose focus now. SU library is a ghost town. Perfect!!!
