In the Poetry Library, you'll find two poems I recorded in response to The Poetry Foundation's invitation to record and share favorite poems during National Poetry Month. I read An Idea and Plato, or Why by Wislawa Szymborska. The Poetry Library also features a few poems from my upcoming collection, The Beauty of Listening. (Listen for it this summer!)

A Celebration of Poetry on Facebook!
Also in honor of National Poetry Month, I had a poem-a-day celebration on my Facebook page. Visit to find 30 days of video and audio poetry readings! You'll find Meryl Streep and Yo-yo Ma, Leonard Cohen, Dorothy Parker, Jack Kerouac and More. You'll even see Joan Crawford's powerful reading of I Shall Not Be Moved, a magnificent musical pairing with E.E. Cummings, and a poem Carey Grant wrote for his beloved dog, Beau. I had a wonderful time sharing and hope you enjoy scrolling through.

The month of poetry posts on Listeners Unite includes many of the listening-related poems from the Facebook celebration. The month rounds out with poems by my listening friends, Marva Shand-McIntosh, Jerry Catt-Oliason, Michael Diamond, Michael Purdy and Dick Holmes, links to poems from my upcoming book, and a book spine poem about listening. (This poem features my book, Rule #1: Stop Talking: A Guide to Listening and Kay LIndahl's The Sacred Art of Listening.) :)
