Happy National Poetry Month!
Greetings!

It's spring and poetry is in the air! Did you know that April is National Poetry Month? I'll be celebrating by sharing a favorite poem each day, writing and reading new poems and attending some local events. Following are some places to read and share poetry and links with more fun ways to celebrate poetry--from framing a special poem for someone to writing poems on the sidewalk with chalk. Enjoy!

Poem-a-Day Celebration!

FB IMG Join me on my Facebook page for a poem-a-day in April! I'll be sharing links to my some of my favorite poems, many as videos with readings by the poets or other performers. You don't have to have a Facebook account to visit the page. Anyone is welcome to come by. If you are on Facebook, feel free to comment and share your favorites, too.

Other Ways to Celebrate

For  more ways to celebrate and more information this month-long celebration, visit the  Academy of American Poets here. Of course, you're also invited to visit my  Poetry Library any time, which includes which includes several poems from my upcoming book, The Beauty of Listening.

Listeners Unite!

LU IMG I'll be sharing listening-related poems on the blog at Listeners Unite. If you have an original, listening-related poem you'd like to share, please send it to me here. I'm always happy to share listening poems on the blog. Other contributions are welcome, as well, and can be sent any time to the same address.

Hobo Code Poems

Once again, Anastasia Clark has organized a poetry collection in celebration of National Poetry Month. Her theme was poems related to hobos and hobo history inspired by the symbols they've used to communicate with fellow travelers. I contributed a poem and will join other contributors for two public readings in in April. A flyer with details is posted on my Bulletin Board page for anyone who would like to come by Anastasia's "hobo camp" for a little poetry and mulligan stew.

Wishing you peace, love and poetry,
