CCHTprogramNew Project at the
Canadian Centre for Housing Technology Provides Opportunity for Factory-Built

The National Research Council
is undertaking a new program at the
Canadian Centre for Housing Technology.

The CCHT website provides background information including current and completed projects. To date, research at CCHT has been conducted on two site-built houses.

The new program provides an opportunity
to showcase factory-built homes and demonstrate how innovative solutions for the building envelope and building services apply to prefabricated buildings.

To respond to changing needs, NRC is planning to build a two-dwelling residential building configured as a double - two semi-detached homes. The building is to provide a testing platform for heating, ventilating and air-conditioning equipment, envelope components, renewable energy, energy storage, and control systems. The ability to modify the building to accommodate wall and window alterations will be important.

More information on the research to be conducted at the new CCHT facility is available on the government procurement website.

If you are at all interested
- there is no commitment -
please see
above.
