3 Bullet Point Protocols to Keep Audiences Happy

  • Stop reading them aloud.

I can read faster than you can talk and have finished the page while you are on "Point 1."

  • Keep it short.

Three-to-five words per bullet are ideal. Complete sentences are not necessary. Multiple-sentence bullets are a faux pas.

  • Use body language instead of bullets where possible .

As the speaker/leader, your own body can indicate powerful bullets in space as you speak, which creates more energy in the room and focuses audience attention on the issues at hand.
