The Talking Cure, Not Just for Doctors In The Talking Cure, a recent Wall Street Journal article, author Laura Landro examines the link between poor doctor-to-patient communication and malpractice. Reframing is a key communication technique of the examples she provides. Rather than blurting out the first thoughts that come to mind, frame your words with the emotional needs of your audience at the forefront of the choices you make. Being effective takes practice, thoughtfulness, and empathy. Mastering it creates an economic payoff in many ways, transcending function and formality; including improved relationships, productivity, and economic success.
