The Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change is hosting hearings throughout the Commonwealth to get input from you on pressing issues in clean energy and climate.

The Committee wants to know: how do you think the legislature should keep our state healthy, sustainable and strong?

The Conversations are taking place in nine locations from May 8 to June 26.
  • May 8, Mashpee
  • May 9, Sudbury
  • May 15, Melrose
  • May 16, Taunton
  • May 22, Weymouth
  • June 12, Springfield
  • June 19, Pittsfield
  • June 20, North Shore
  • June 26, Boston
See the committee's website for details for each event and check back if the location is TBD.

Please consider attending and making your voice heard. Committee Chair Sen. Marc Pacheco wants to bring the issue to the attention of House and Senate leaders and the Governor. We can help!

On the committee's website there are links to email and/or tweet your input.

Launa Zimmaro, LWVMA's Specialist for environmental legislation, has prepared talking points to help guide your comments. If you have any questions contact her.

Sen. Patrick O'Connor of Weymouth, a speaker at the recent LWVMA Convention and the one Republican on the committee said, "The arguments that have been surrounding global warming, climate change and sea level rise are over. That has been determined, and now it's time to continue the conversation of what we need to do collectively - Republicans, Democrats, independents, moderates, conservatives and liberals - to combat this great threat to our entire coastal communities as well as the entire commonwealth of Massachusetts."

We agree with Senator O'Connor!
