August Gratitude ~ Fellowship Contributers
|
This month we celebrate everyone that brings food to share and all the wonderful volunteers and groups that setup and clean up our Sunday Fellowships in the Community Center after each Sunday morning service. Thank you for your generous hospitality that invites everyone to connect with our UVC community. A core team is forming to support this important service for our community. If you are interested in being a part of this sacred service, please sign-up at the Activities table in the Community Center.

Can't make it? The full service Livestream begins at 10:30am CST... even to your mobile device! Login at 10:15 for a special greeting from Rev. Erin. Spread the word and invite your friends. Children are always welcome in our services, and if they need a break you can take them to the Bookstore where the service is LiveStreaming.

Eddie Watkins, Jr Concert ~ Friday July 31st
|
 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Activities Center
Tickets are $15 at the door and doors open at 6pm.
"My music is an expression of all the experiences of my life." Eddie grew up in the ghettos of Detroit, playing bass on recordings with the Temptations and Marvin Gaye at 17. He recorded with many artists since. He became involved in Religious Science in 1997 and the songs just started pouring out of him. He has released 4 albums which will be available for sale after the concert or the Sunday Service on August 2nd. Eddie will also be providing special music during the Sunday service, and after the service, conducting an I Sing My Prayers Workshop on Sunday, August 2nd in the Activities Center from 12:30-2:30pm. Break Through Your Threshold - Sunday August 9th

If you missed this wonderful workshop in July, here's your chance. Back by popular demand, Jai Maa, Life Coach and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist will be facilitating a workshop: "Break Through Your Threshold" in Room 229 of the Admin Building from 12:30 - 2:30pm. Learn why you unconsciously attract obstacles anytime you create a goal outside your comfort zone. Guest Speaker Rev. Sharon Connors ~ Sunday August 16th

Join Sharon to explore the topic of "A Choice Worth Making & Action Worth Taking." Rev. Sharon's ability to marry innovative strategies inspires us to realize our goals and dreams. She is an author, life coach, and seasoned spiritual leader. Sharon has served the Unity movement leading ministries in Florida, San Francisco, San Diego and right here at UVC.
Stay for her workshop:Sharon will also facilitate a
workshop from 12:30 to 2:30pm in Room 229 of the Admin Building. Discover your deepest core Life Intentions. Experience a way to override internal, self-limiting thoughts. Begin to activate 7 essentials for prosperous living beyond where you are now. $20 suggested Love Offering but no one will be turned away.

Summer Film Series ~ Friday August 28th

The final film of the Summer Film Series: Every Three Seconds will be shown in the Activities Center. Doors open at 6:30pm and the movie starts at 7:30pm.

Luna Fest Music Circle ~ Friday July 31st, and again Saturday August 29th!
Following the Eddie Watkins, Jr concert this Friday we will be experiencing a "Blue Moon." This is when there are 4 full moons in one season, the 3rd full moon is called a "Blue Moon." Join in the fun at the Labyrinth for a sacred full moon circle. Bring a musical instrument, chair or blanket. Meditiate, walk the Labyrinth, dance or play in the magical energy of the full moon. S.A.M. ~ August Harvesters Food Drive
Our social action for the month of August is a Food Drive for Harvesters who support those in our community with assistance to help meet their basic needs. Donation barrels are located in the Activity and Community Centers. Drive ends on August 30th. Here are the items most needed.
School of Rock Concert ~ Friday August 14th
The kids from School of Rock are putting on their annual concert in the Activities Center. The doors open at 5:30pm and the concert begins at 6pm. Tickets are $10 at the door and go to benefit the School of Rock's scholarship fund and UVC music. Download the flier here.

"I of the Storm" Class
Join Revs Carrie Kenyon and Baine Palmer for this five week class starts tonight, July 30th to August 27th, from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Based on the book: "The I of the Storm: Embracing Conflict, Creating Peace" by Gary Simmons which is available at the first class or in the Bookstore. This class may be taken for SEE credit. What would your life be like if you believed that there is No One and No Thing against you? The "Day-By-Day Reconciliation Journal" is also highly recommended. Love Offering gratefully received. Prayer Class
Join Rev. Marianne Jones for this five week class on Sundays from August 2nd to the 30th, at 12:30pm in the Meeting Room. Learn Unity's view of prayer and how it enriches our lives. This class may be taken for SEE credit. It is also a prerequisite for taking the Pastoral Ministries training. Love Offering is gratefully received.
Spiritual Economics in the 21st Century
Join Dr. Rick Belous for this two week class, Mondays August 3rd and 10th, at 6:30 to 8:30pm in the Meeting Room.The recommended book for this class is "Spiritual Economics" by Eric Butterworth and is available in the Bookstore. Download the flier here.
Atom Smashing Power of the Mind
Join Rev. Marianne for the Sunday morning Adult Study Group in the Meeting Room Sundays at 9am. We will be starting this amazing book by Charles Fillmore mid-August.

What's On Your Mind? People's Choice Q&A Sunday Panel ~ August 2nd
10:30am in the Activities Center
Come out for this special People's Choice Sunday where you write the talk. We are blessed to be joined by visitors from four Unity Centers from Florida that have come to beautiful Unity Village for a retreat. We will have a special Q&A panel where Rev. Erin will be joined by Rev. Charline Manuel, Unity Center of Miami, Rev. Prentiss Davis, Unity of Ocala, Rev. Virginia Walsh of Unity North Tampa. Congregants from the Unity Community Church of Dunedin, FL are also joining us. Ushers will be collecting your questions to bring up to the panel.
Special music will be provided by Eddie Watkins Jr. and his CDs will be available after the service. Eddie will also be conducting an I Sing My Prayers Workshop, see the Concert inset above for more information.
Name Tag You're It! Sunday August 2nd
If your last name begins with the letters G through N, you are invited to bring some finger food to share at Fellowship after the service.
If you'd like to purchase an offiical Unity Village Chapel Name Tag see Alberta at the end of the CD table after the service in the Community Center.
Salad Sunday ~ August 23rd Be sure to sign-up in the Community Center to bring your favorite salad. This is a fundraiser with a minimum suggested Love Offering of $5. All proceeds benefit UVC.
Around the Kitchen Table with Rev. Erin ~ August 23rd Is there something that you want to know about the Unity movement or Metaphysics but have been afraid to ask? This is your opportunity. Grab a plate from Salad Sunday and meet Rev. Erin after the morning service from 11:45 to 12:30 in the Classroom (next to the Kitchen).
MOU Cookout ~ August 30th Our Men of Unity will be sponsoring a cookout to raise funds for all the wonderful work that they do to support our community. You are invited to bring a side dish or dessert to share.
Core Sunday Service Volunteers Meeting ~ August 30th
Activites Center, 12:15pm
Volunteers that serve during Sunday service as members of the Ushers, Service Assistants, Angels, Power Point, Welcome and Office Liaison Teams are requested to attend. This is a chance to meet all the members of everyone's teams and become familiar with one another. It's also a time to go over how things are going and what we can do to better to support your teams.

The Men of Unity gathers for fellowshipin the Classroom at 9am the second Saturday of the month to enjoy camaraderie and breakfast. All are welcome and invited to attend.
Spirit Hawk Flute Circle
This group meets in the Activities Center Lobby at 6:30pm every third Thursday. All levels of experience are welcome. Minimum $5 Love Offering. Download the flier here.
Sisters of Myrtle Fillmore Monthly MeetingAt 9:15am the Sisters gather in the Meeting Room on the third Saturday of the month. All are invited and encouraged to attend.

- Pastoral Ministries Training Sundays starting September 13th. You must have successfully completed the Prayer class before taking this training.
- The Q Effect with Mary Roseman, Saturday September 19th from 9 to 5pm.
- Saturday September 26th, Highway Cleanup. Our last Adopt-a-Highway service event for the year.
