Annual Membership Meeting Report

The Board of Trustees want to thank those who attended last Sunday's Annual Membership Meeting and those who submitted absentee ballots.  The meeting took place in compliance with the Unity Village Chapel Bylaws on Sunday, March 15. Ninety members registered to vote at the meeting.  Two members were elected to fill the two open positions on the Board of Trustees and a bylaws amendment was approved.  Also, the 2014 Annual Membership Meeting Minutes were approved as was the Annual Treasurer's Report.  The membership Representative and an Alternate were elected to the 2015 Nominating Team.

Reverend Erin McCabe gave her annual Minister's Report and Board President, Drayton Riley, gave the annual Board Report that included a report on the 2015 Membership Census.

Board of Trustees Election

Board members Paul Summers and Patrice Bryant completed their terms of service and by a vote of those members in attendance (which included 7 absentee ballots) Linda Chappell and Larry Smith were elected from a slate of six candidates.

The members in attendance applauded Paul and Patrice for their extraordinary service, Linda and Larry for their being selected to serve and additional candidates Jan Marie Sajna, Anna Griesbach, Janet Galvin and Ronna Gjesfjeld for their willingness to serve the Board.

Bylaws Amendment Passage

The Board of Trustees recommended a change in the bylaws that was approved by a 76.4% margin.  This change altered the requirement that a census be taken of the Chapel's membership every two years to a three year interval.  Copy of the Chapel's bylaws.

2014 Annual Membership Meeting Minutes Approval

Outgoing Board Secretary, Patrice Bryant, read the 2014 Annual Membership Meeting Minutes which were approved by acclimation by those in attendance.  Text of Minutes.

Treasurer's Report

Board Treasurer, Paul Summers, reported the year end results of the Chapel's finances.  Proceeds from all sources for 2014 were $295,649 and expenses were $304,377, an -$8,377 result.  Paul encouraged members to take advantage of any of several "Easy-Giving" opportunities including Pay Pal or recurring payments using online banking or online credit card services.  This is a way to insure that your offerings continue to flow even though you may be unable to attend services on Sunday. Board President's Report

Board President, Drayton Riley, made a request that we all elevate our game this year. He went on to explain that elevating your game does not require that there be a certain outcome.  Most people make important choices in their lives with no certainty of how it will turn out, he pointed out.  He went on to remind everyone that last fall, using the same players, managers and coaches, all with the same skills and abilities, the Royals elevated their game with no certainty of how it would turn out.  Yet they set a record for 8 straight playoff wins.  Drayton appealed to the membership to elevate their game..."If you are already on the field and breaking a sweat, please don't look for a spot on the bench.  Keep playing. If you are on the field and not breaking a sweat, break a sweat.  If you are in the bleachers, get on the field. Elevate your game...your giving, your service and talents, not knowing what the outcome will be. Do it for its own sake, for your sake.  Let's have a fantastic, amazing year."

Minister's Annual Report

Reverend Erin McCabe expressed gratitude to her staff and the Board for its support and dedication to the Chapel.  She also asked everyone in attendance to stand if they have volunteered this year.  Noting that almost everyone go on their feet, Rev. Erin acknowledged everyone for their engagement.  Rev. Erin then reviewed "Seven Ways to Support and Celebrate Unity Village Chapel" listed in a handout supplied to those in attendance.
