A Message from Reverend Erin McCabe
REV ERIN
"My eyes are filled with tears...because of what we have and who we are..."

Welcome to a month of gratitude!

One of the most spectacular things about a spiritual community is that it re-creates itself each week. Certainly all the programs, events and Sunday services are a great blessing to all, but it doesn't stop there. Through freely sharing our gifts, we come poised and empowered to offer rich opportunities for spiritual growth and abundant living.  When we come together and share ourselves, we find out what we are made of...

We are a community of amazing individuals and families full of talent, love, commitment, and life stories that can blow your mind. When we step into sacred service, our light is no longer hidden under a bushel basket. We begin to share our vitality, energy, and soul in a way that invites people to connect with us and thus with community.

You may be amazed to really know who you are sitting next to...someone who... brings food to fellowship each Sunday...donates stamps for the office ...picks up papers and tidies our sanctuary...trims the hedges on Unity grounds...raises funds and awareness about youth activities on grounds...stops by the office and asks "what do you need?"...brings in coffee for fellowship...drives all around KC to find the perfect flowers for Sunday mornings...cleans out our refrigerators ...decorates for the holidays...receives and processes our offerings ...listens to mp3s at work to learn music for Sunday Services...ministers to the ministers ...delivers daily words to nursing homes and hospitals ...washes the tables after gatherings...posts videos online after every service... comes in to clean the office for the staff...serves our children...puts on memorial banquets for families of loved ones...gets up early each week to make sure Sunday is ready for all...holds the high watch, keeping an eye on our resources and a vision for our future...

There are tears in my eyes now...not because this letter is so long and that you might be tired of reading the world's longest run on sentences, but because what we have and who we are is sooo beautiful and is so inspiring and is YOU.  This is who you are, what you do for each other and how others contribute to you.

All of this and more.  The list is infinite, just like Spirit and just like you...the Beloved.

Illumination and blessings,

Rev. Erin
