National Public Safety Forum: Youth Violence

Join the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at IUPUI and the IU Public Policy Institute for a candid conversation about the daily challenges of violence, hunger and support that youth face across the City of Indianapolis.

Panelists will include Indianapolis Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Lewis Ferebee, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Troy Riggs, representatives from the Indiana Pacers, and leading experts in law enforcement and public safety.

The goal of the forum is to better address the critical needs of Indianapolis youth and to build stronger relationships among community leaders, schools, parents and caretakers and IMPD to reduce youth violence, provide safer communities and a better quality of life for the city's youth.

The National Public Safety Forum is from 1 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, at the Pacers Square within Bankers Life Fieldhouse, 125 South Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN 46204. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.

The Scott County Partnership is seeking volunteers for the Reality Store program for Scottsburg Middle School, which is on May 13th 2016 from 8:00 am- 3:00pm Volunteers will host booths for teens to visit as a part of learning what it means to balance a budget as adults.
