The Peace Learning Center and the Desmund Tutu Center have partnered together to find 8 central Indiana youth who will travel to South Africa and be paired with a social justice focused organization. They will live with a South African family, see the country and struggles of the Apartheid, and seek out key South African lessons for social justice work and community development. Upon their return, the Youth Fellows will apply what they have learned by implementing a social justice project in Central Indiana.  The trip is all expenses paid.

9 Classes Away
GoFundMe

My name is Melita Carter, and I am a strong, compassionate, and ambitious 29 year old brown woman living in Indianapolis, IN. My passion is servanthood with a humble heart.

I have been serving others since I was 13 years old and currently I serve as a youth development facilitator with Peace Learning Center. I am finishing my undergraduate degree at University of Indianapolis. I maintain a 3.0 GPA and I am 9 classes away from accomplishing one of my biggest life goals. In order to graduate I must pay for my remaining classes out of pocket.

Read my story here. Donating will help me pay my tuition and fees and finally cross the finish line. I am appreciative of all donations, and even if you can't give, I thank you for your prayers, and for speaking kind words of encouragement into my spirit.
