As you hopefully know, every other year, The Journey hosts a trip somewhere outside the United States for fellows to explore the world of youth work-making new global friends and gaining new professional insights through a cross-cultural experience. 

In 2016, we are excited to announce we will be traveling to Vienna in August.  Please consider if this coming year is "just the right timing and place" for you to expand yourself professionally.

Don't miss out on the 2016 International Youth Worker Exchange! Journey Fellows will be traveling to the 33rd FICE Congress and 2nd CYC World Conference in Vienna Austria.

Attend FICE and CYC Conference

Site Visits and Homestays with Youth Workers

Depart Austria and arrive in Indianapolis or Chicago    

*Please keep an extra 2-3 days reserved on either side of the trip. As we continue our planning we may have to shift the trip by a few days.

Regarding costs consider these possibilities:

  • Request professional development support from your organization
  • Use your Journey scholarship dollars (for current fellows)
  • The Journey is already underwriting part of the cost
  • Request a professional development scholarship from IYI or other local sources
     
Committee Members

There is a planning committee currently forming. If you are planning on attending and would like to assist with the planning and details of this youth worker exchange trip, let Janet know. Some of the committee members responsibilities include arranging housing, ground transportation, things to do, places to visit, travel logistics and fellow orientation.

There is a $200 deposit due by November 1, 2015 to reserve your spot. $1,500 will be due in total, broken into 7 payments. See the flyer for payment schedule.

Step 4: Note the payment deposit schedule starting in November.

 

Step 4: Put the dates on your calendar! 

 

Step 5: Consider attending a local Oktoberfest this fall to get yourself familiar with some of the culture  :)
