D. Susan Wisely Youth Worker of the Year Award

The D. Susan Wisely "Youth Worker of the Year" Award will recognize an individual's extraordinary impact on Indiana youth and support his or her continued professional development. The award is provided courtesy of the D. Susan Wisely Leadership Legacy Fund, a fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation.

The winner will receive: $2,500 Cash Prize, to be used for the awardee's professional development, as well as free registration, hotel and travel for winner and a guest to attend the 2015 Because KIDS COUNT Conference where they will be recognized.

Applicants must be committed direct service youth workers who have been working with Indiana youth for five years or more.

SciGirls Inquiry Based STEM Professional Development Workshop

Join us for a professional development workshop focused on inquiry-based STEM instruction with a commitment to gender equality. This workshop is based on the hit PBS series, SciGirls whose goal is to encourage girls to choose careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

SciGirls Trainings integrate inquiry-based STEM instruction with a commitment to gender equity. Educators attending SciGirls Trainings will learn the latest research for exciting and engaging girls (and boys) in STEM; experience hands-on STEM activities; and gain access to free materials for hands-on, video-enhanced activities that put a creative twist on teaching STEM.

There is no fee for the training. We will be providing lunch for a $10 fee. You are able to bring your own lunch if you would like.

* Plans, organizes and implements programs and initiatives in order to produce a preeminent college readiness experiences for all participants, and to fulfill CLD's mission to minority youth.
* Assists College Prep Director in the management and operation of the College Resource Center.
* Assists in the development of program content, monitors key performance indicators and outcomes and prepares program reports and proposals.
* Manages and evaluates the overall quality of the program experience, including reviewing and updating curriculum and observing classes and events.
* Coordinates the recruitment of program participants, facilitators and volunteers, and monitors program expenditures.
