People are giving nonprofits more money! Yay! Yup, for the fifth consecutive year, the amount of charitable giving increased! Now it's surpassed pre-recession level! 

Here's an article about it, focused on giving in the US. 

And giving around the world is going up as well, from 1.2B in 2011 to 1.4B in 2014, according to the World Giving Index! More money means we can do more stuff!

Parenting Through Peace

Maria Montessori said that children go through four distinct phases of development from birth to adulthood. In this interactive workshop, Peace Learning Center volunteer, Tamara Castleman, will help parents, parents-to-be and other caregivers understand these stages of development and show participants how this understanding can help foster a peaceful home environment that encourages individuality and growth. Open to the public. Free. Registration required. Child care will be provided for children 5-12.

Workplace Bullying Seminar: 
Work Shouldn't Hurt

Marian's Adult Programs is sponsoring a seminar on workplace bullying on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 6 PM in the Marian University Theatre (formerly Civic Theatre).  The keynote speaker will be Chris Lyte, a former fighter who now advocates and educates on workplace bullying.
