Because space is limited, we are offering this training to Journey Fellows first. If space remains available after October 2nd, we will invite non-Journey Fellow youth workers to register.

Training participants will learn about: 
  • Assessment and Intervention Techniques for families affected by Trauma
  • Effects of Trauma on brain development
  • The four Tenets of Trauma Informed Care
  • Avoiding secondary/vicarious trauma
  • Creating Trauma Informed Organizations and Systems
Your $100 Registration Includes:
  • Three-day training: Take Time for Kids! 
  • Opportunity for local shopping
  • Two nights stay at Best Western, Merrillville
  • Opportunity to connect with Journey Fellows at 5:01 event on Monday night
  • Three lunches during the training, courtesy of Children's Bureau, Inc. 
  • Journey dinner on Tuesday night
This event, hosted by The Journey, includes the free training Take Time for Kids!, provided by Children's Bureau, Inc. and Indiana Department of Child Services.

Participants can earn up to 20 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from NASW for completion of the training.
