Horizons is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to be part of the teaching staff. Candidates should be able to help create and nurture a lifelong love of learning in children. Horizons seeks professional, caring individuals with the ability to help implement strategies to engage students in active learning through non-traditional ways. Candidate must work as a team player to help fulfill the Horizons mission.

 

1. Lead Teacher, licensed teacher for elementary grades

2. Asst. Teacher, education background preferred (typically is an undergrad in an education program)

3. Reading/Resource Specialist


For all three positions they would need to be available June 15th-July 24th from 8:00-3:45.  I only have a few positions left so if anyone is interested they should be in touch with me asap.

NAMI Indiana to Offer Paid Training

NAMI Indiana is recruiting candidates for a new certification designed for people who want to work in the child mental health services system of care. This spring, NAMI Indiana will select 25 applicants to participate in a paid, 40-hour training course that will prepare candidates for jobs of the future.

The ideal candidate for the IN CPSP training is an individual who has parented or cared for a child with complex mental health and/or substance use disorders AND has experience with navigating the necessary mental health and child-care systems.
 

One-week training courses will be held in April, May, and June with locations to be announced.

Bauer Family Resources Youth Development Job Posting

The Youth Development Program at Bauer Family Resources is expanding!  We are hiring more part time Youth Workers to meet the growing needs of our program.  The Youth Development Program is a free drop-in program for youth ages 5-18.  We utilize the 40 Developmental Assets Model to provide a variety of activities for the youth in a safe and comfortable environment.  The afterschool program operates from 2:45-8:00 p.m. Monday-Friday with extended hours during the Summer.  We are looking for part-time staff and interns.  Full year and seasonal opportunities are available!  Applications can be completed on our website: http://bauerfamilyresources.myexacthire.com/ViewJob-49298.html.

Women of a New Tribe: A Photographic Celebration of the Black American Woman

The Indianapolis Public Library and the African American History Committee will be hosting the national touring exhibition "Women of a New Tribe:  A Photographic Celebration of the Black American Woman" at the Central Library August 3, 2015 through September 26, 2015. 


A popular feature of the exhibit is the inclusion of portraits of women from the hosting local community.  Nominees can be role models, family, friends, volunteers or professionals.  We are looking for those unsung heroes. 

 

The nomination form is online at http://www.imcpl.org/new_tribe/ and at any Indianapolis Public library. The nomination process begins March 8, 2015 and will run through March 22, 2015
