Fall 2013

Dear Friends,

Summer 2013, like years preceding, was charged with energy, curiosity, and fun. The busy hallways of BSML welcomed students from Venezuela, Qatar, Spain, Iran, Russia, Germany, and several other countries  around the world. Outside of class, students took trips to New York City, the Museum of Fire Arts, MIT, Revere Beach, and the Boston Public Gardens.

The children's group journeyed to the Franklin Park Zoo, the Boston Children's Museum, and the Museum of Science. Eileen and students rolled back their sleeves and indulged in baking chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cupcakes. Longtime friend and student, Bill Nathan, once again treated the school to a performance of traditional Haitian drumming  during a graduation ceremony.

These activities and others have united students, teachers, and staff in our common goal of learning English and learning about each other.   As the summer weather wanes and hints of autumn begin to appear, we look forward to continued learning, connecting and growing!

We hope you enjoy the video we put together, which reflects the happy times our students lived during the summer.

BSML Student Corina Garcia

Corina Garcia

I've been studying English at Boston School of Modern Languages since March 2013 and it has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Fist, I decided to come to Boston because, in my opinion, it's an amazing city. It has a lot of places to visit, stunning parks, great architecture, many malls and popular streets to walk along and go shopping, but the most important thing is that it's a city filled with students.

After a few friends (former students of BSML) talked to me about the school, I decided to come here.

Studying at BSML is a whole new experience compared to other schools I've been to before. Not only the teachers, but also the school staff is always trying to help you to improve your English skills. Each one of the teachers is prepared to give the lessons in every level and to answer all our questions.

The school also offers all kinds of day-to-day activities that you can sign up for, and they're great opportunities to get to know the city and enjoy a good time with your classmates and other students at the school.

I invite everybody who wants to learn English to come to study at Boston School of Modern Languages. You'll definitely Learn it, Live it and Love it.

Your BSML Team - David Wolfe

David Wolfe

After graduating from UMass Amherst with a degree in English Literature, Dave taught English at Yuncheng University in China.

Now Dave teaches here at BSML and particularly enjoys teaching a course, "English and the Environment". He also enjoys hiking with students occasionally on weekends.

"The students at BSML are consistently compassionate, curious, and fun-loving. This combination of personal qualities makes for fun hiking adventures where bonds are deepened and English skills are advanced."
