Greetings! Randy Nicklaus

This month is very busy for 2-1-1 Big Bend as we add new staff, new board members and host our AIRS reaccreditation review team.  I really appreciate our staff's patience and great attitude during this hectic month of continuing change!
Our AIRS reaccreditation site review is October 28.  We look forward to demonstrating again how our programs excel at meeting national standards as well as serving our community.  Next month we hope to announce the success of our team and our reaccreditation.
We are about to launch a new program called Help Me Grow which will serve families with children aged 0-8 who are experiencing various kinds of developmental delays.  Once our contract is signed we will bring new staff on-board and tell you more about our new services.
Sadly, this week we are saying goodbye to Sheila Horne, our Development Director for the past three years.  Sheila is moving with her husband Derrick to Alcorn State University in Mississippi.  Sheila has been a wonderful colleague who not only coordinated our fundraising, but also served the agency in many other ways.  She is a person of great integrity and dedication.  Sheila and Derrick, good luck and best wishes as you begin your new adventures!
President

Sean Cooley
Communications Coordinator at the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity's Office of Film & Entertainment

Since I was young, my mother instilled the importance of community service and giving back in my brothers and I. After finding out more about 211 and the first-class services the agency provides, I knew I wanted to be part of the team. As a new board member, I'm looking forward to helping the agency tell its story to the Big Bend community and growing the awareness about the resources available through 211. After completing a masters degree at Florida State and working professionally in both private and public sector communications, I currently am the Communications Coordinator at the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity's Office of Film & Entertainment.
