UPHS 2014 Annual Conference
Wednesday May 14 from 8am to 3pm
The 15th Annual Conference - with the theme "Taking on Today: Success Strategies for Human Services Professionals in the New Normal" - will include nonprofit leaders, board members, program staff and volunteers who will learn about innovative strategies and creative approaches to managing and navigating change. Mark O'Bryant, President /CEO of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, is the featured keynote luncheon speaker.

2-1-1, a 24/7 free, community hotline service offering confidential counseling and human service information. Other specialized hotlines are also operated by the agency such as the Florida HIV/AIDS Hotline and the Family Health Line.

Greetings!
Did you know that nearly 140 people volunteer with 2-1-1 Big Bend every year? They contribute more than 14,000 hours to answer our hotlines and provide other services for 2-1-1 Big Bend. In fact, this month we graduated 34 volunteers from our hotline training class and they are now completing supervised shifts so they can start helping our callers. Our volunteers are super dedicated and make a huge difference in our community. Thanks to all of you!!
To support our volunteer program and our hotline services we hold our annual fundraiser - A Night in the Tropics - every April. It includes dinner buffet, beer/wine, specialty drinks, silent auction, casino games, a DJ and dancing. It's tropical and casual. Please join us on Saturday April 26 from 6-11 pm at the Tallahassee Auto Museum. Tickets are $60 each. Also, there are reserved Friends of 2-1-1 tickets for $150 (includes two tickets and reserved seating). Thanks to Capital Health Plan for their title sponsorship!
