Greetings!
 | Randy Nicklaus, President |
I'm Inspired! Our hotline counselors helped thousands in the past few months. While many people were on vacation our counselors were working to make this a better place to live. Plus, several volunteers, board members and staff have worked many hours planning and implementing our outreach and fundraising events. We have several new activities planned for 2-1-1 awareness month in February including a 5K run. Plus, this Fall we have many upcoming events including an ASIST (suicide intervention) training, a suicide prevention walk, and multiple information booths planned at community events. Watch for us and tell others!

Board Member Spotlight
2-1-1 Big Bend Welcomes New Board Member
Andre J. Holmes, CPA
President
JEFFERSON HOLMES, LLC
A personal philosophy is that you can never be truly successful in life unless you use your God-given talents and skills to enrich the lives of others. I have the pleasure of earning my Bachelor of Accounting and Master of Taxation from the University of Miami. Subsequently, I earned my FL license as a certified public accountant. I feel a personal obligation to share the skills I acquired through my training and career experiences to help sustain and improve the lives of others. 2-1-1 Big Bend does more than just sustain and improve the lives of others - it saves lives. That's why I wanted to serve on this board: to offer my expertise to an organization that helps sustain, improve, and save lives.
- As a newer member of the board, what have "You" learned about 2-1-1 Big Bend that you did not know before. Before joining the board I was unaware of all the services that were available in our community. I have since learned that having 2-1-1 Big Bed as a central community information repository adds immeasurable value to the lives of all citizens, including those that do not place direct calls to our hotlines.
- What is one thing you would want people to know about 2-1-1 Big Bend? I want everyone in the community to be aware that we exist to improve this community by positively effecting the lives of citizens of varying needs and we desire to offer our services perpetually. We value all of our community partners and supporters. We invite the entire Big Bend area to get involved with 2-1-1 and support our agency whether as a donor, a volunteer, or another capacity.
