Support candidates who fight for the needs and values of New York City's artists and musicians

The congressional primaries in New York are on June 28, and Local 802 has endorsed Keith Wright (Harlem, portions of the Bronx), Jerrold Nadler (West Side of Manhattan and parts of West Brooklyn), and Carolyn Maloney (East side of Manhattan, portions of Queens) for U.S. Congress. These three exceptional candidates have demonstrated their appreciation for the arts and their ability to fight for the interests of NYC's musicians, from protecting intellectual property rights to fighting against worker misclassification and increasing the role music plays in our public schools.

Tired of business as usual in Washington? Make your voice heard! Get involved with a campaign and help shape politics and make a difference for your family, your colleagues and musicians. Contact Local 802 Political Director Christopher Carroll by clicking here, or call (212) 245-4802, ext. 176.

(*The congressional primaries in New York are on Tuesday, June 28. Not sure where to vote? Click here or here. And you can print out our endorsements here.)

Contributing to TEMPO 802, Local 802's political action committee, is one way musicians can support our community. TEMPO is one of the vital tools in our advocacy belt, an important resource and an asset for our work with our elected partners and government officials. This tool is crucial for our work at the local and federal levels to ensure that the interests of musicians and the art community are heard, protected and strengthened. To contribute, click here.
