Good afternoon,
As you may know, Local 802 has endorsed candidate Domenic Recchia for Congress in the 11th Congressional District, which encompasses Staten Island and part of Southern Brooklyn. Local 802 endorsed Recchia because we have his promise that he will support issues essential to musicians, such as performance rights, and investment in the arts and education. He has been endorsed by the New York AFL-CIO, and the New York League of Conservation Voters, and will advocate for the needs of working people on important issues including transportation and infrastructure funding and the environment.
It is important to come out and vote on November 4th. In addition, with your help, Local 802 will be participating in Labor Walks this Saturday October 25th, Saturday November 1st, and on Election Day in Staten Island and Brooklyn. Candidate Recchia will also be holding a meet and greet this Saturday in Staten Island.
Join us! Each person who volunteers will bring us one step closer to claiming this victory. This election is important to our members, as well as for working people throughout Staten Island, Brooklyn and New York City.
