"Take 3" Actions to Fight the Flu
The news media has been reporting increased reports of the flu nationwide. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), flu activity most commonly peaks in the U.S. in January or February and can last until May. Since the flu is a serious contagious disease that can lead to hospitalization and even death, the CDC urges everyone to "Take 3" actions to fight the flu:
- Take time to get a flu vaccine
- Take every day preventive actions to stop the spread of germs
- Take flu antiviral drugs if your doctor prescribes them.
For details on these "Take 3" actions, as well what to do if you get sick or how to care for others in your home who may be sick, visit http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/preventing.htm. |
