Each year in December, if you visit Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering or Rouge Valley Centenary, you have an opportunity to see how people care so much for their community hospital.
Through the Foundation's annual Gift of Health campaign, we receive not only your generous gifts, but also messages of season's greetings sent to our staff and the patients they care for. You will find these heartfelt messages from our donors on display at both hosptals.
If you haven't had the chance yet and you are considering making a holiday charitable gift this season, we hope you will think of the Rouge Valley Health System Foundation. Aside from financial gifts, keep in mind that businesses, community groups and families can host a toy drive, and we can help you share these gifts with children who need care at Rouge Valley during the holiday season.
To find out more, call 905-683-2320 ext. 1501 or 416-281-7342 to tell us about your toy drive. To make a safe and secure online donation and receive a tax receipt via email, click here.
On behalf of everyone at Rouge Valley, please accept our best wishes for a safe and happy Christmas and holiday season.
Sincerely,
Chad Hanna, President & CEO, Rouge Valley Health System Foundation

Mayor's Gala a winter wonderland
This year's Pickering Mayor's Gala marked a decade as the premiere black-tie fundraiser for Durham Region. In that time more than $1 million has been raised for Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital and other community organizations.
This year's gala revisited the roots of the fundraiser, the Festival of Trees, and celebrated the hospital's 60th anniversary. Guests experienced the awe-inspiring beauty of a Winter Wonderland and recaptured that sense of wonder and joy of fresh snow from youth. See all of the pictures here.

Santa Claus comes to town
The Rouge Valley Health System Foundation was well represented at the Pickering and Ajax Santa Claus Parades on November 27.
The Pickering parade was held in the morning and the Ajax parade was a festival of lights held in the evening. The Foundation appreciates the many volunteers who dressed up in hospital scrubs and walked the routes with our float, which was generously made possible by a private donor who loves the holiday spirit!
This year's float celebrated 60 years of the hospital in Ajax and Pickering and displayed pictures of the building and its staff over the decades.

Fundraising in bazaar fashion!
RVC Volunteer Services celebrate another successful Bazaar on December 3rd in the lobby of Rouge Valley Centenary hospital.
With baked goods, books, crafts, and scarves for sale - items went quickly as this is a day that both staff and the community anticipate every holiday season. Many of the volunteers spend the year leading up to the big day, knitting and closer to baking. All made with care. Proceeds from the Bazaar's sales all translate into a donation back to Centenary hospital's priority program and equipment needs. See more pictures here.
