Greetings!
I hope you are enjoying this wonderful fall season as much as everyone here at the Foundation has been.
As always, things have been busy for our staff, with two special events taking place recently. I want to say thank you to everyone who participated in the Durham LifeBeat 24-Hour Bandathon on Sept. 27 & 28, as well as the annual Feeling Fabulous for Fall Fashion Show, Oct. 6.
Both events were great successes and you will read more about each of them in the news reports below. But please allow me the opportunity to point out that we are truly grateful to the community volunteers who helped organize and make the events so special.
In October, excuse me 'Bro-tober', our attention is now focused on The Bro Initiative. I've been having fun growing my goatee for the cause, as have many men who have registered for this Rouge Valley exclusive campaign. I encourage you to check out the event listings below in order to mark your calendars with the time and place for a few Bro events coming up later this month.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
Best regards, Chad Hanna, President & CEO, Rouge Valley Health System Foundation

Durham LifeBeat a big success
From sunset to sunset, Friday Sept. 27 to Saturday, Sept. 28, the music played non-stop in support of the Rouge Valley Health System's cancer care and surgical programs, with a large number of local youth performers taking the stage for a 24-hour musical bandathon, at Pickering High School. In the end, the amazing event collected an outstanding amount, more than $40,000 and with fundraising continuing, they have currently reached $45,000! Read more about the event and find a link to all of the pictures here. Pictured: Two of the young singers perform during the Saturday evening portion of the 24-hour musical bandathon.

Foundation has a flair for fashion
A number of surgeons from Rouge Valley Health System, along with up-and-coming models, were dressed for success in fabulous fall fashions at the 5th Annual Feeling Fabulous for Fall Fashion Show, at the chic venue of Lexus on the Park, in Toronto, Oct. 6.
Funds from this year's show are to be used to support the Rouge Valley Health System Surgical Program.
Pictured: Dr. Jason Smith, orthopaedic surgeon, was one of the models in the show and emcee Andria Case, of CTV, had fun telling the audience about the young and single doctor as he took his turn on the runway.
Read more about the event and find a link to all of the photos from this year's show here.
