Free family fun returns to racetrack this Sunday at Ajax Downs
The popular Free Family Fun Day at the Races returns for another great day of kids' activities and fun at Ajax Downs on Sunday, Aug. 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and this year two special guests, Caillou and Strawberry Shortcake will make the day unforgettable for young fans.
Ajax Downs and the Quarter Racing Owners of Ontario, Inc. (QROOI) are once again the hosts for the free community event, held to support Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital. Along with all of the fun of kids running in the 'Try-the-Track' event and getting up close and personal with the jockeys, horses and many other animals in the petting zoo, the 2013 Free Family Fun Day features free draws and giveaways, along with pony rides, duck races and free cotton candy and freezies.
"We know how popular Caillou and Strawberry Shortcake are, so this will be a wonderful opportunity for young fans to meet them and have their picture taken with their favourite," says Bob Broadstock, President, QROOI. "This event is something we all look forward to because the kids who come out have such a great time every year. That's why we work hard to make it a special experience."
Ajax Downs is located at 50 Alexander's Crossing and the event is completely free to attend.
