Greetings!
As the school year winds down for students and summer is almost here, the Foundation is preparing for warm weather events in the months ahead.
I hope you will take a minute to read about two special recent events in this edition of Community Giving. The Gates Open home & garden tour and donor celebration for the Heart of it All campaign were great successes.
On behalf of everyone here at the Foundation, we wish you all a safe and happy time of family this summer, at home or on your travels.
Best regards,
Chad Hanna, President & CEO, Rouge Valley Health System Foundation

Heart of it All celebrates donors
Since it was launched in 2011, the Heart of it All campaign has enjoyed a great deal of support from many different corners. The community donors to the campaign were invited to a special celebration June 17 at Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital, where a plaque recognizing their generosity was unveiled.

First Gates Open enjoys beautiful weather, homes
The homes of the Scarborough Bluffs area are well known for their unique architecture, beautiful gardens, and envied for their spectacular views of Lake Ontario. A select number of these properties swung wide their front gates to welcome guests of the first Gates Open Home & Garden Tour, June 15, in support of the Rouge Valley Health System Foundation.
Pictured: Participants check out the beautiful view and landscaping of the Soknacki residence, one of eight stops on the first-ever tour.

Bequest makes new surgical equipment possible
We extend thanks and gratitude to the late Earl Wesley Lee who left a bequest in his will to Rouge Valley Health System Foundation.
His gift will be used to help purchase a KTP Laser which is new generation technology for prostate surgery. Bequests like this help purchase vital equipment that is essential to the treatment of patients. To learn more about the KTP laser, or how to leave a gift in your will, email mslavik@rougevalley.ca.
