Greetings!
We really enjoy celebrating the generosity of our donors. It almost goes without saying, but without the wonderful support we receive from the community, local health care would not be what it is today .
Along with service clubs and individual donors, it is important to point out the special people here at Rouge Valley Health System who show they care about the patients that rely on them, so much so that they are willing to commit their own financial support to help purchase new equipment for the hospitals where they work.
Thank you to our doctors, nurses and the many other hospital staff members who give to the Foundation through their time and money at events or through payroll deduction to specific campaigns or programs. Please know that your contributions are very appreciated!
Best regards, Chad Hanna, President & CEORouge Valley Health System Foundation

Staff Buy a Bed donors celebrated
When Rouge Valley Health System Foundation (RVHSF) set out on a campaign to raise the funds needed to purchase 100 new beds for Rouge Valley Centenary hospital (RVC), staff quickly showed their support and jumped into bed to help make it a success. While some staff joined the Buy a Bed campaign cabinet, many others took part in fundraising and community events to raise awareness for the need, and of special significance 65 members of staff signed on to support the campaign with money out of their own pockets, by donating through the payroll deduction program.Pictured: On October 26, Rouge Valley Health System Foundation celebrated the members of staff who contributed to the Buy a Bed campaign through payroll deduction. Funds support new technology to access patient records
Members of the Florence Nightingale Home Foundation (FNHF), (Order of the Eastern Star, #227) recently made a presentation of $4,000 to RVHS Foundation to purchase a computer for 3 West Medical Short Stay Unit at Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital. This computer is specifically for use by physicians so that they can access patient records, review test results as well as communicate with their peers on the ongoing care of their patients. The large screens connected to the computer allow the doctors to easily view x-rays and other scans. Bill Manners golf event a success
The third annual Bill Manners Memorial Golf Tournament was held September 28 at the Four Seasons Golf and Country Club in Claremont, to raise funds for the Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital and the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. This is the first to be held since founder Bill Manners died in 2011. The previous two tournaments have raised more than $35,000 and organizers say they plan to continue in the same spirit of giving and awareness, to honour Mr. Manners.

Rouge Valley renews its focus on patient experience
A very simple act helped to get 39-year-old teacher Kerri Johns the appointment she needed for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan at Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering (RVAP).
Without the quick thinking of a Rouge Valley diagnostic imaging staff member, she may have waited months to be diagnosed with a slight tear on the ligament and cartilage in her knee. The new 3-Tesla MRI machine arrived at RVAP in August 2011, and already more than 3,000 scans have been performed, making it a much-valued tool for Rouge Valley patients.
