Friday, December 14 - Dan Hazlett
Dan Hazlett is truly the epitome of a modern day musical Renaissance man - it's simply impossible to place his body of work into a pre-defined musical niche. A producer, sound engineer, playwright, musician, singer, songwriter, stay-at-home Dad and businessman, Hazlett (pronounced HAZE-let) is an accomplished, polished performer who entertains and uplifts his audiences with a blend of his smooth, soulful voice, his finely honed acoustic guitar work, and his arsenal of well-crafted and thoughtfully presented songs. Weaving in and out of folk, jazz and a Will Rogers style of down-home humor, Dan captivates his listeners with subject matter ranging from the ordinary silliness of everyday life to the unexpected intensity of dramatic interludes. His performances are at once heartwarming and moving, quirky and humorous, and are always presented in Dan's unique style that appeals to audiences of all ages - and always while wearing his signature red high-top sneakers! Bill Edwards
Bill Edwards is both a master of the songwriting craft as well as a seasoned and compelling performer. The fusion of these talents creates a dynamic double-whammy that has knocked out listeners from New York to Los Angeles. Bill is an entertaining and captivating performer whose easy stage presence and charmingly humorous stories make the audience members feel right at home, while his outstanding instrumentation and warm tenor voice always leave them wanting more. His expertly crafted music and his finely honed and frequently clever lyrics have commanded the attention of top-notch country recording artists as well as a host of independent performers, all of whom are eager to cover his songs. A songwriting collaboration with Nashville singer/songwriter (and former Ann Arbor resident) Whit Hill produced the tongue-in-cheek classic "What'd I Do", which was heard on the hit HBO series True Blood. Bill's songs wrap around listeners like a warm blanket on a cold winters' night, drawing them in and always inspiring honest, heartfelt emotion. His latest CD, "My Kind of Crazy," was recorded in Nashville with top-notch musicians and released in October of this year to great acclaim. www.edwardsongs.com

Taoist Sexual Meditation: Connecting Love, Energy and Spirit (Paperback) By Bruce Frantzis List Price: $24.95 Our Price: $17.47 (Save: $7.49 30%)
Since the first waves of Eastern philosophy traveled across the sea, Westerners have been intrigued by ancient traditions such as tantra, yoga, tai chi, and martial arts. Yet although some aspects of Taoist sexual practices have appeared in print, until now there has been no comprehensive book on Taoist sexual meditation. The Water method of Taoist sexual meditation, as was taught by Lao Tse, author of the Tao de Ching, shows us how to use dissolving meditation to relax and let go. This foundation practice ultimately gets us out of our head and into our body and the universe. Sex expands into the world of spirit, enabling us to resolve and clear energetic, emotional, and karmic blockages. With sexual meditation it is possible to access more than four times the energy of solo meditative practices. This abundance of energy can then be directed to healing and to conscious evolution. You will learn how to work with chi (energy) during sex, gain an understanding of Taoist ethics and morality, and realize the highest spiritual potential of sex as meditation. Find out how to increase sensitivity, activate your yin and yang meridians, and overcome cultural conditioning. Understand how the Chinese theory of the Five Elements can give insight into your own sexual nature and determine sexual compatibility with potential partners. An accelerated path for internal development, sexual meditation has rarely been shared outside Eastern monasteries. Encouraged by his teachers to bring these authentic practices to the West, Frantzis presents Taoist Sexual Meditation as a profound spiritual path that can heal and calm the turbulence of mind, allowing it to open to the infinite potential of the Tao.

The Healing Power of the Sacred Woman: Health, Creativity, and Fertility for the Soul (Paperback) By Christine R. Page List Price: $20.00 INSTORE ONLY Our Price: $14.00 (Save: $6.00 30%)
How to enhance well-being by reconnecting to sacred womanhood - Shares ways to embody the power, wisdom, and compassion of the Great Mother - Reveals a woman's purpose is to give birth not only to new life but also to new levels of consciousness - Shows how female illnesses represent a disconnection from our true identity as women Four thousand years ago, women were seen as living representatives of the Great Mother, whose cyclical and potent energy gave birth to all existence. Today, this sacred awareness has been lost or distorted, causing a collective amnesia among women around the world. However, there is one symbol of the Great Mother's loving presence that has remained unchanged for tens of thousands of years: the physical body. Its curves, sensuality, softness, and monthly flow are constant reminders of this deep loving connection. When illness appears, especially within the breasts and fertility organs, a woman is being reminded to return to her pure and sacred identity, where death and birth are essential for growth and love flows without expectations. Combining more than 30 years' experience in health care with in-depth research into the history and mythology of the divine feminine, Christine R. Page, M.D., reveals that women are the foundation of the birth of new levels of consciousness, without which the evolution of humanity will become barren and dry. Yet, such birth can occur only when women have the courage to reject the beliefs and images of the feminine imposed upon them four thousand years ago and reclaim their true identity. Through a fascinating journey into the body, Dr. Page shows the importance of self-love and self-respect and explains how sex is a natural process of unification where women take the lead, similar to the ancient sacred priestesses. Dr. Page reminds women to reconnect to the potent and creative energy of Mother Earth, which gives power to the intuitive voice of the heart and nurtures new seeds of inspiration and enlightenment through the womb.
