Break Free From Paper

- Steven J. Best, Esq.

When lawyers and law firm staff are asked about their biggest frustration, managing volumes of paper is at the top of their list.  Paper files have become problematic in today's technologically driven law firms.  People spend hours of unproductive time filing away and then, later, looking for paper.

Reducing the inefficiencies inherent in paper files requires three categories of technology.  First, the paper must be converted to digital format, preferably PDF, using a scanner. Second, there must be a way to store, organize, and retrieve the digitized documents using a Document Management System (DMS) such as Worldox.  Finally, for portable use, there must be a way to read and annotate PDF documents, such as the new Sony Digital Paper device.

Our feature article lists ten key steps toward a paperless practice. Read it HERE.

Below you will find the announcement for our Worldox Boot Camp series.  Also, check our blog for a close look at the new Sony Digital Paper device that works in conjunction with Worldox.

And be sure to attend our FREE one-hour webinar on The Paperless Office: How to Make it a Reality in Your Practice presented by Affinity Partner Paul J. Unger, Esq. The webinar takes place on Monday, June 16, 2014, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT.

Word Logo MS Word Tip of the Month - Using the Format Painter Tool
- Barron K. Henley, Esq.
If you find text formatted the way you like in a document, you can easily replicate it elsewhere using the Format Painter button in the Clipboard group on the Home ribbon.  This is particularly useful when you have some rogue paragraphs which are formatted incorrectly.  To use this feature, read this month's Word tip.
