August, 2015
Dear Friends,

Oh, I am soooo ready!  Awww, I'm not ready.  Oh, I am SOOO ready... repeat!

Some years I can't WAIT until the kids go back to school, but this year I don't think I am ready!  So many of us got out of school late due to snow days and that our precious summer days have just flown by.  To make it even worse, some of us START school BEFORE Labor Day!

Despite this, there are still lots of ways to finish out summer!
  •  The Highland Foundation continues with their Free Fun Fridays through 8/28! www.highlandstreet.org/freefunfridays.
  •  Take an afternoon tour to explore the North End and make your final stop Mike's Pastries - an experience your kids won't forget!
  •  Check out the AMAZING cars during Mass Cruisers at Patriot Place nights - next one is Thursday 8/20.  (patriot-place.com)
Make sure you make the most of these precious last summer days!

MDG Crafts:  O-FISH-ALLY Back to School!
It is almost time to get ready for school!  How cute is this "O' Fish-Ally" craft that can be personalized and hung on your student's door in time for their first day!

What you need:
  •     White paper
  •     Colored paper
  •     Washable paint
  •     Googly eyes
  •     Black marker
  •     Glitter, gems or other decorations

What you do:

Your first step is to make the "title" for your poster.  This can be done by neatly printing with the black marker, creating/printing your own from your computer or downloading/printing a version from here:  DOWNLOADABLE

Next enlist your little student's help to pick the colors they would like for their fish.  Paint stripes of those colors on their hand(s) and gently press them in the center of their page.  Let dry.

Once dry, help your student place their googly eye, add a smile and decorate to their taste!  Glue your masterpiece to a piece of colored paper to create a frame and then hang for all to admire!
