Special Alert: Mass Health Sending Re-determination letters to all Enrollees

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through Mass Health will be sending re-determination letters to all recipients of Mass Health that must be completed within 45 days to ensure payment for continued supports and services.
The letters, which appear on letterhead from Mass Health and the Massachusetts Health Connector, will be sent to the residence on file for each program participant/or their legal guardian.
DDS is advising self advocates and families to seek assistance from the Service Coordinators if needed to complete the process.

Rep. Jay Kaufman Honored As ADDP Legislator of the Year

The Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers was delighted to honor Lexington Representative Jay Kaufman, as the ADDP 2015 Legislator of the Year, at a noon luncheon yesterday in Lexington, Massachusetts.
In presenting the award to Rep. Kaufman, ADDP Chair Jean Phelps acknowledged the "dedication and compassion that Jay Kaufman is known for throughout the State House."
The presentation of the award was presented to Rep. Kaufman, at the Edinburg Center, in the Representative's District. Ellen Attaliades, President and CEO of the Edinburg Center saluted Rep. Kaufman for "always be fully informed, responsive and respectful of all of the needs of people with disabilities and the people of his district.
Gary Blumenthal, ADDP President & CEO, spoke of the high esteem in which Rep. Kaufman is held by both Massachusetts and national legislators as "the conscience of the legislature, always willing to talk frankly and directly about the link between revenue and quality services and the cause of social justice".
In addition to being a leading Massachusetts legislator, Rep. Kaufman is also recognized by the National Conference of State Legislatures as a revenue and tax expert, and has provided consultation to legislators throughout the nation in his recent role as NSCL Revenue Chair.
