House Members Focus on Budget

If you call your House Member in the next few weeks and get a busy signal, don't be surprised.

In the Six Steps to Building the State Budget, the pressure is now on the House, and specifically the House Ways and Means Committee to offer its support or redesign of the FY 16 budget submitted last week by Governor Charlie Baker.

For DDS programs, top priorities include:

Restoring Family Support and Respite Services

House One and Prior 9C cuts have taken over $15 million from family support programs that provide in home therapies, respite services and other family supports.  Write to you legislator today and urge he or she to fund Line Item 5920-3000 at $62.5 million.

Restore Day and Employment Services

House One cut $10 million from eliminating Day Hab Wrap Services for many of the most vulnerable program participants who need help with feeding, toileting and behavioral supports. Write your legislator and urge he or she to fund Line Item 5920-2025 at $186.2 Million to protect services for the most vulnerable of our community.
