"Looking at the bigger picture, this means that employers are feeling less pressure to continue cutting staff, reducing spending, and laying low with their employee development," reports the Unemployment Services Trust (UST) - a partner of the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers that helps nonprofits put more money back toward their founding mission by paying only the dollar-for-dollar costs of unemployment benefits claimed by former employees.

Says Donna Groh, Executive Director of UST, "With many nonprofits seeing an improvement in their employment outlook, now is the time to take a good look at their unemployment insurance options. As nonprofits, agencies representing the best interest of the developmentally disabled are allowed by federal law to opt out of paying state unemployment insurance (UI) taxes."
