adultsAdult News - Summer's Hottest Reads!
Summer has arrived!  With it comes sun tan lotion, charcoal, badminton,
and great summer reads to throw in your beach bag.  These are the MUST-READ books of this summer- enjoy!

The Girls by Emma Cline

"OMG!  This is the best book I have
read in a long time.  It's the 1960s and a young teen going through rough times, due to bullying and her parents' divorce, joins a "Manson-like" cult occupying a dilapidated ranch near her home. The results are chilling.  If you remember the Manson murders (or even if you don't) you will be spellbound by this story and the look into the psyche of a young person being attracted by the charisma of the leader and the dark, dark setting."  -Val

Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi

"Homegoing is not only a wonderfully written book that has great storytelling, but it is a book that is able to show how issues that still plague us today are rooted in evil from long ago. Yaa Gyasi does an incredible job weaving her story through generations.  We watch the extremely different paths two sisters are pulled to and how each impacts their family line in ways unimaginable." - Lori

Before the Fall by Noah Hawley

"The thriller of the summer?  Quite possibly.   A private jet departs Martha's Vineyard on a foggy night. Only 2 of 10 passengers and crew survive: a four year old boy who is heir to a media fortune and a down on his luck painter.  What follows is conspiracy, suspense, and a powerful finish.  FYI - author Noah Hawley is the creator of television's "Fargo", which is one of the best shows I've ever seen." -Andrew

Beaches by Gray Malin

"I know you're not expecting to see this book on this list, but check it out. Gray Malin is one of the most sought after photographers in the world. The aerial beach photography he is most known for is collected here in this beautiful package. Though maybe not the best book to enjoy while actually on the beach, no beach lover's home is complete without it.  It will make a noticeable hostess gift all summer long."  -Andrew
