Things we can thank (or blame?) Kim Kardashian for: breaking the Internet (at least until Caitlyn came on the scene), taking Yeezy off the market, and introducing the world to the wonders of the selfie. And while Mrs. West has basically lifted the solo snap to almost biblical proportions with her 450-page coffee table book "Selfish," she's got nada when it comes to cute and fuzzy!
This summer, Zoo New England ups the selfie ante with its #zoofie campaign, which encourages folks to visit the zoo to get that amazing Instagram-worthy shot of themselves with their favorite animals -- think gorillas, giraffes or zebras at Franklin Park Zoo or black bears, snow leopards and otters (oh my!) at Stone Zoo.
It's as easy as 1-2-3. 1) Go to your zoo of choice. 2) Get the shot. You and the animal must both be in it. 3) Simply post the photos to social media with the hashtag #zoofie -- and then watch the likes roll in faster than you can say "Keeping Up with the Kardashians!"

While we fancy ourselves bon vivant types who want nothing more than to jet set around the world, the harsh reality is that traditional travel methods are pretty much the worst. Planes and trains are a pain in the ass -- literally and figuratively -- between stiff cushions, tight security, price inconsistency, cattle call crowding, unpredictable (if any) seat reservations and basically guaranteed delays. So it's a good thing we've got the inside scoop on the best-kept secret for shuttling between Boston and New York to keep our globe-trotting reputation intact, minus the hassle.
We bring you the spiffed up LimoLiner, a luxury motor coach that cherry-picks the best attributes of air and road travel then 86's the rest (think onboard attendants, complimentary meals, snacks and bevvies, cushy seats, free Wi-Fi, satellite TV/radio, extra legroom, advance seat selection). And the cost of LimoLiner's high-touch hospitality, first-class amenities and sleek design? Just $89 each way -- come rain, shine or last-minute wanderlust.
Because there are few things worse than paying extra for speed and being delayed anyway. Yea, you-know-who-train, we're talking to you!

Summer on Cape Cod just got a little spicier. No, not because the Chatham A's are back in town -- though who can resist college dudes in tight white pants...but we digress... Rather, it's all thanks to the small-batch, barrel-aged rums from Truro-based South Hollow Spirits, whose award-winning hooch comes both amber and spiced for your beach-boozing pleasure.
As the Cape's first legal distillery since Prohibition, SHS produces Twenty Boat Amber and Spiced Rums named for 10 infamous bootleggers who fled the watch of (you guessed it) 20 harbor police and coast guard vessels shortly after posting bail. Fleeing on foot in Provincetown never to be spotted again, the rum runners displayed a bold independence now embodied in SHS' signature spirits. Try them for yourself this season while touring the 2,000-square-foot distillery, and coat your stomach with local bites from the on-site Crush Pad food truck (lobster rolls, Niman Ranch burgers, Kobe hot dogs, duck tacos and more).
Just making a quick Cape pit stop before a ferry or flight to Nantucket or the Vineyard? Sip on the Caribbean King (Twenty Boat Spiced, Amaro Sibilla, Walnut/Orange Bitters) or Rock the Boat (Twenty Boat Amber, Bajan Punch, Earl Grey Bergamot Syrup, Citrus) at slice of Francophile heaven Pain D'Avignon in Hyannis before hitting the high seas. Two or (or six!) of those, and you may even be able to convince one of those A's to join you for a little island getaway. Spicy summer indeed!

You're a loyal marlo monthly subscriber because you love our witty voice and snarky repartee, right? Ummm...nice ego, but not so much. Rather, we know it's because you value our insight on the three Ds: dining, drinking and diversions. Duh!
Working in the PR and marketing world, we're often asked for our restaurant recos, favorite boutiques, where to go for a night on the town, where to go to detox from a night on the town, etc. So from now until July 23, we're offering up our curated picks for you to shop at the simple click of a button through Marlo's featured collection on Gilt City.
