Ed and Kathleen Guinan

Earlier today, I received an email from Pax Christi USA Ambassador of Peace Janice Vanderhaar, sharing the news that Ed Guinan, who became the first General Secretary of Pax Christi USA in 1972, had passed away the day after Christmas. I didn't know Ed personally but had heard stories about him over the years and also knew that he had been one of the founders of the Community for Creative Nonviolence in D.C. I've posted a short obituary for Ed on the PCUSA website and linked to two additional obituaries for him, one prepared by PCUSA Ambassador of Peace Colman McCarthy for The Washington Post. You can click here to read more. If you knew Ed personally or have a story to share, I hope you'll post your thoughts in the comments section after the story on the website or post them to our Facebook page. All of us at PCUSA give thanks for Ed's life and witness.

Below is the e-Update for January 2015, a recap of all of the items you may have missed which are still relevant from the past month or so. We hope you'll take a few moments today or later this week to review them and use them as you see fit.
