Mary Meg McCarthy, center, the 2013 Teacher of Peace award recipient,
with Teachers of Peace Fr. John Rausch, glmy and Kathy McGinnis.

On Friday evening, June 27th, over 100 people gathered for Pax Christi USA's annual Momentum event at Trinity University in Washington, D.C. We gathered to celebrate Mary Meg McCarthy, the recipient of the 2013 Pax Christi USA Teacher of Peace award, as well as reflect on the issue of immigration reform. The gathering took place with a sense of urgency as the story about the crisis of unaccompanied minors, mothers and their children at the border was just receiving national attention.

I've archived on our website a number of resources from the evening, including a report on the event, photos, audio, a copy of the opening prayer service and more. And I hope to add more in the next few days as they become available.

Additionally, Momentum is one of Pax Christi USA's major fundraisers during the year and the folks who gathered for the evening were very generous. If you could not attend but want to support events like this and our work to elevate issues like immigration reform and the humanitarian crisis happening at the border right now, you can always give quickly and securely through our website. We thank you for any support you can offer!
