This past weekend was the first National Council meeting since this spring's elections and I want to share the results of the election with you, introduce you to the new members of the council, and announce the new Executive Committee chosen at this weekend's meeting.

From the at-large slate of candidates, Sr. Rose Marie Tresp, RSM was elected, and current council member Cathy Woodson was re-elected. Both will serve three-year terms.

From the regional slate of candidates, former National Staff member Jean Stokan, of the Pax Christi Metro D.C.-Baltimore region, was elected. She will serve a three-year term.

Additionally Cynthia Morris-Colbert of Washington, D.C. and Edward Martinez of Wisconsin were appointed as members of the National Council.

A new Executive Committee was also chosen at the meeting this past weekend. Sr. Josie Chrosniak, HM, and Cathy Woodson will continue as the National Council Chair and Vice-Chair, respectively. Donald Levan has been chosen to serve as Treasurer and Sr. Esther Pineda, CSJ as Secretary.
Congratulations to the new elected members and many thanks for all those who offered their services as candidates!

I also wanted to share with you that for the first time in several years, Pax Christi USA hosted an organizational leadership gathering, inviting Pax Christi USA regional leaders, the Pax Christi Anti-Racism Team, the National Council and National Staff to all come together for meetings at the national office in Washington, D.C. The summit took place this past weekend, June 27-29 and coincided with Pax Christi USA's annual Momentum event which took place on the evening of June 27. Nearly 50 leaders participated in the meeting.
