Greetings!,

PIT This year, 2013, marks the 50th anniversary of Pope John XXIII's papal encyclical Pacem in Terris (Peace on Earth). The document was published on April 11, 1963 and was the first encyclical specifically addressed to all people of good will.

As we celebrate this momentous anniversary, we have created a special webpage on the Pax Christi USA site to feature resources, articles and other items of interest that are related to Pacem in Terris throughout this anniversary year.

Pax Christi USA Ambassador of Peace Joseph Fahey of Manhattan College has contributed a piece already, and he and Ron Pagnucco, coordinator of the Peace Studies committee for Pax Christi USA and professor at the College of St. Benedict/St. John's University, will be encouraging colleagues to contribute articles and resources as well. We're grateful for their assistance and we hope that the page will serve Pax Christi groups and individuals as you study and celebrate this prophetic document. You'll also find a link to the free small group resource, "Praying Pacem in Terris", created by the national staff, on the page too.

Click here to take a look at the special webpage "Pacem in Terris at 50."

And don't forget to register for the June 14-16 National Conference in Atlanta if you have not done so already!

In peace,

Johnny Zokovitch
