Noah Webster
1758-1843
Father of American Education
"... the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government, ought to be instructed."

Libation #201:
Do The First Things
If one of the first things children under free government ought to learn is Christianity, then the open disdain for Christ and His "eviction" from American classrooms is a  sign that free government is slipping away.  What shall we do? I am reminded of the words of Christ:

"Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent."
-Revelation 2:5 (KJV)

There are three important points in this verse:

1) We must remember from where we have fallen. The quote by Webster, serves to remind us how important it is to know our history. It also reminds us why the enemies of Christ have strategically placed themselves in our educational institutions. They don't want the next generation to remember our history.

2) We must repent. To repent is to turn back, thus the ability to repent is based on remembering. Without history as our benchmark, we have no guide in the present, no vision for the future and no idea where to turn back to.

3) We must do the first works. Remembering our history we look to Webster's advice. First things would include teaching our children our history and how the Christian faith produced our freedom.

If we fail in these three things, we don't know how quickly our candle can be removed and the light of liberty can disappear.

Who shall address this free-fall from freedom? Who will restore freedom's foundations? This task falls to those of us who still hold to Christ. I have chosen to do something. How about you? Join me in the Knowledge Is Power Project.
