"Memories are great and they certainly give us some meaningful events to reflect on, but I am into NOW."
You're still awesome

How do you think of your Glory Days?  Were they a time in your youth that you wish you could relive?  Were they stepping stones that brought you to where you are now?  Or are you still creating new ones?

A little nostalgia for another time period in history can be a positive thing, but too much nostalgia for another time in your life could possibly rob you of satisfaction and happiness in this one. How do you relish your glory days and still fully embrace the life you currently lead?

Getting the pats on the back, the awards, and the accolades was amazing ... and you're STILL amazing! Think about all of the things you're able to do now that you couldn't when you were younger. All of the life skills, the knowledge, the freedoms. And you're not done yet!

The glory days don't have to stop. Every day can be a new glory day. Even if it's relishing in something as simple as being able to eat ice cream for breakfast because you're a grown up.

Life is all about where we choose to put our focus. If we are so emotionally invested in the past that it prevents us from seeing and appreciating the wonderment of our present life, we've got Glory Days Syndrom. As long as we can continue to look forward to tomorrow with a positive sense of eager anticipation then we are fine. In this case, our good old days are just the really memorable parts of our living experience. But our focus is still in the here and now, and we expect each coming day to be a positive and worthwhile experience... a NEW glory day.

There is no time to bust out of a rut like right now. Just because things have been a certain way for a long while doesn't mean that they can't change. You can change almost anything you want to, and you can start right now.

The next time you look at those old photos and clippings, hear the old songs, see the old friends, embrace them and let them recharge that part of your spirit... it's still there. You've still got "it"! Make today your new good old days.

"If you want it, then the best is yet to come".

Until next time! :)
