To coincide with International Women's Day on 8th March, we are delighted to announce our inaugural 'Women in Business Fortnight'. Over the course of two weeks, we will be hosting a number of events to celebrate the outstanding achievements of some of our members who will be sharing their insights and learning from experts in their field.
An Evening with Julie Meyer MBE

Please join us on Wednesday 8th March for a special members' evening where we will be welcoming Julie Meyer MBE as our guest speaker. 

Julie founded First Tuesday, the first social network for Internet entrepreneurs, which she sold in 2000 for $50 million. She then went on to help build a number of leading European Internet businesses such as lastminute.com, Espotting and Skype. Julie is now the Chairman and Chief Executive of Ariadne Capital, a Managing Partner of the Ariadne Fund and Founder of EntrepreneurCountry Global. 

This is an evening not to be missed - whether you are interested in investing, scaling technology businesses, entrepreneurship in general or you just want to come and listen to a great success story and to meet other members.

'Achieving a Work-Life Balance'

In this interactive breakfast seminar, Almuth will address seven future trends about work-life balance, in the context of recent psychological and business research, but also taking into the account the practicalities of how work is continuing to change. The talk will close with some practical suggestions for introducing more balance into our lives.

Dr Almuth McDowall is a recognised expert in work-life balance, she is based at Birkbeck University of London in the Department of Organizational Psychology, and is passionate about bringing research to a wide range of audiences.

We are very excited to host this panel evening with two incredible guest speakers: Mich Tuner MBE, Founder of The Little Venice Cake Company and Nancy Cruickshank, Founder and CEO of My Showcase. 

Mich worked as a bakery and pattiserie Buyer for Harvey Nichols, before founding The Little Venice Cake Company in 1999. She is often described as 'Queen of Couture Cakes', thanks to her multi-award winning designs and A-list clientele for whom she has made over 10,000 cakes - including cakes for Her
Majesty The Queen, Madonna, Ozzy Osbourne, Gordon Ramsay, David Beckham, and Simon Cowell.

Nancy, a self-confessed beauty junkie and technology addict, is often described as a 'serial entrepreneur' and has an advisory role in a number of companies. She launched the pioneering fashion and beauty portal Handbag.com in 2001, which she sold in 2006 for £22 million. She is currently Founder and CEO of My Showcase, an innovative beauty retailer that champions female entrepreneurialism and independent brands.
