An Evening with Lord Allen of Kensington, CBE

Lord Allen is perhaps most well known from his time as CEO of ITV and Chairman of Granada Media, however he has also been Executive Chairman of EMI, a member of LOCOG successfully winning the 2012 Olympic Games and Mayor of the Olympic Village during the Games.  Among other roles, Lord Allen is also a Senior Advisor to Goldman Sachs, was appointed CBE in 2003, knighted in 2012 and became a Labour peer in 2013.

In partnership with Broadbent Gallery, a wide selection of contemporary paintings, prints, drawings and photographs to suit all tastes will be available to view and buy. Ranging from the famous to the yet to be discovered, many pieces will offered at half their retail price, ranging from £250 to £7,500. Furthermore,  all works currently displayed in The Clubhouse at 11-14 Grafton Street and 50 Grosvenor Hill will be available to members at a 25% discount to the list price during Art Week.

 

Join us on Wednesday 29th April at 6.30pm for a private view, a glass of wine and an introduction from Angus Broadbent on collecting art and an update on the market.

We are very much looking forward to Luke Johnson returning to speak next month. Luke is Chairman of private equity house Risk Capital Partners LLP, through which he is Chairman and part-owner of Patisserie Holdings and Bread Ltd (the firm behind the Gail's Artisan Bakery chain). He is also Chairman and majority owner of online cruise holiday website operator Cruise.co.uk, and of Neilson Active Holidays. 

Luke also owns the Baker & Spice bakery chain, holds majority stakes in Feng Sushi, a London-based chain of Japanese restaurants, casual-dining chain 3Sixty Restaurants (comprising Ego Restaurants and Rocket Restaurants) and contract catering firm Genuine Dining. He is also Chairman and part owner of pub group The Draft House, Chairman and 50% owner of London bar chain Grand Union and still finds time to writes a weekly column for The Sunday Times.
