Kodiak Lions Club Celebration
With the Good Friday Quake Began the Kodiak Lions
The Kodiak Lions will be celebrating "50 years" of making Kodiak a better place to live on April 5th. Starting first with the move of Afognak Village to what is now, named after them, Port Lions, they have never let the moss grow on any of their projects.
Arm wrestling tournaments, The Biker Ball, music festivals, oyster feeds, raft races, soap box derbies, and a hundred projects ranging from Coats for Kids and Vision Care year after year is what it's all about.
To "Aid the weak and right the wrong" is their credo.
Lions Past International President, Al Brandel, will join the Kodiak Club April 5th for a banquet to recognize "the difference the club has made" in the community in 50 years.
There will be a 20 page insert in the Kodiak Daily Mirror to culminate their story from 1964-2014. They are looking for stories, testimonies, and pictures of priceless moments, and, if possible, support of your business with an ad. We are also looking for good Lions for the next 50 years!! More to come in the next issue!
Call Doc Myers, (907) 539-2010, for more information.
