All Collegiate Choir at State Conference
Eight Culver-Stockton College students were selected for the 2015 All-Collegiate Choir at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference (MMEA).

Board of Trustees Welcomes New Members
|
Two new members joined Culver-Stockton College's Board of Trustees during the Annual Winter Retreat held in January. Larry Askew '94 and Kathy Turpin have accepted an initial three- year term of service.

W.R. and Ann Lee Konneker Leader in Residence Dr. Joseph MacDoniels |
Culver-Stockton College held the first annual Konneker Leader in Residence Program on Jan. 27-30. Dr. Joseph MacDoniels '63, professor emeritus of communication at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, provided workshops for faculty, staff, students, campus organizations, and community members. Additionally, he participated in the C-SC Leads program for students on Jan. 30. Read More

C-SC Music Tour
Feb. 25 - March 1, 2015
|
Catch C-SC's première performing ensembles as they travel to perform at area churches and high schools. Under the direction of Dr. Elliot Jones, professor of choral activities and professor of music, the Concert Choir and Chamber Choir present music by Duke Ellington and a brand new piece by Stephen Paulus. Faculty pianist Dr. Dylan Marney, assistant professor of music, accompanies the choir in Norman Dello Joio's "A Jubilant Song," a setting of poetry by Walt Whitman.
The Wind Ensemble explores dynamic levels of instrumentation by showcasing winners of the student concerto-aria competition. Dr. Trent Hollinger, assistant professor of music, directs the Wind Ensemble. The lyrical side of the Jazz Ensemble will also be featured through Sammy Nestico's "Song for Sarah." Dr. Tom Polett, professor of music, directs the Jazz Ensemble.

Alumni Basketball Event Free Admission to Feb. 28 Games
|
Alumni basketball players are invited to join us for free admission Feb. 28, as we cheer on the C-SC women's and men's basketball teams. Any men's alumni basketball players interested in playing an alumni pick-up game at the conclusion of the C-SC men's game can do so by indicating when registering for tickets for admission. RSVP by Feb. 26 so we can announce the alumni basketball players names present during the games.

Phantom of the Opera & Triumph Grill- St. Louis Event

Join fellow C-SC alumni as we head to The Fox Theatre for Phantom of the Opera, March 14 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $60 a person and available on a limited basis.
After the performance, there is an alumni event at the Triumph Grill, located 1 1/2 blocks from
The Fox Theatre. Appetizers and refreshments served from 5-7 p.m.

Presidential Inauguration of Dr. Kelly M. Thompson

Join us at 10:30 a.m. in the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center for the Inauguration of President Kelly M. Thompson with special guest Reverend Dr. Sharon E. Watkins, General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Following the inauguration, alumni and friends are invited to a reception in The Lab, located in the Johann Memorial Library. After the reception, please join us for several afternoon academic sessions held on campus.

C-SC to hold Disciples of Christ Youth Leadership Retreat
April 24-26, 2015

Where: Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo.
Who: All high school students
Cost: $35 by April 1, $50 after April 1
(Cost includes all conference fees, lodging, and meals. Students will be lodged at the Centerstone Inn in Canton, Mo.)
Rev. Dr. Sharon Watkins, General Minister and President of the Christian Church will speak Friday evening at 8 p.m. to kick off the weekend retreat. If you have additional questions, please contact C-SC Campus Chaplain Amanda Sorenson at (800) 537-1883 or asorenson@culver.edu.
The retreat is being held in partnership with the Country Club Christian Church in Kansas City, Mo.

Register Now to join fellow alumni back on the "the Hill" for the 2nd Annual Alumni Summer Weekend! Get a group of friends together and sign up today! You have the opportunity to stay in your former fraternity/sorority house or Stone Residence Hall (formerly Ziegler Hall), Wood Hall, or Johnson Hall. Greek organizations that are currently without houses will be assigned areas or floors for their groups.

Conducting & Brass Symposium

Music Directors: register today to bring your high school brass musicians and yourself to this one-day combined conducting and brass symposium.
The cost is $10.00 per student and $15.00 per director. Price includes access to all activities and lunch on campus.
High school brass students have the opportunity to work with professional specialists on their instruments, as well as play and perform in instrument specific ensembles and a full-brass ensemble during this one-day workshop, culminating in a concert. Simultaneously, directors will have the opportunity to work with Major Michelle A. Rakes, executive office and senior assistant director of "The President's Own" United States Marine Band, and Dr. Trent A. Hollinger, director of Bands at C-SC.
Following the symposium, please join us for a Culver-Stockton College Wind Ensemble concert at 7 p.m. featuring guest conductor Major Michelle Rakers and C-SC Concerto-Aria Winner Derek Boren.
